GIVE HIV THE FINGER

Kingston Council is encouraging a proactive HIV testing offer from general practice and other specialist services in Kingston.  Did you know…

More than two out of every 1000 Kingston residents aged 15-59 are infected with HIV

Every year, between 10-20 Kingston residents are newly infected with HIV

One in twelve people across England do not know that they are infected

We have however seen new HIV diagnoses fall for a third consecutive year in London due to combination prevention - increased uptake and frequency of testing, treatment and knowledge around U=U (undetectable=untransmittable), and ongoing condom use

But 44% of all HIV diagnoses in Kingston were late in 2018. Late diagnosis results in poorer long-term health outcomes and those with a late diagnosis are ten times more likely to die early

Cervical Screening saves lives
